October Wantable Box Review

I was super excited when I discovered this shiny white box from Wantable tucked into my mailbox. I opened it to find a sweet array of makeup products in unique packaging nestled safely inside. I couldn't wait to try it all!

When you log on to their site and choose the makeup box option, you can choose to buy a one time box for $40 or you can start a monthly subscription for $36.

Then, you are quizzed about your "Loves", "Likes", and "Dislikes" for makeup, tools, products and colors. You will not receive any "Dislikes" and most likely just things that you "Love". I told them I didn't like nail polish and lipstick. Sorry, just not into those things, these days...

Once Wantable does some magic to calculate all your preferences, they send out a box. Their site states that you will get 3-4 full sized products that are unique, specialty, and premium brands. I recieved 4 products and a sample.

How exciting to get all these goodies to try out! I love the neat Cailyn Liquid Eyeliner box, and the gingham and roses Peepers box... it felt like Christmas!

The Cailyn Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner (Retail $15.00) is a brown with a hint of sparkle. I love the brush tip applicator. It is spongy, not an actual brush so it should hold up pretty well and be easy to apply.

The Darla Makeup Peepers Eyeshadow in Rolled Oats was a really nice neutral shade that could be used as a base, or blending with other colors. I was SO excited that the makeup had so little ingredients and is VEGAN, that I dove into it even before I took this pic! (Retail $18)

See? Check out the label! 100% vegan and cruelty free. Also free of a bunch of other things you don't want to put on/in your body. This is my new favorite makeup company and I cannot wait to check out their site.

Next out of the box was the blush...

The Girlactik Beauty Blush in Milan is a pretty almost wine/berry color. I usually go for a pinker blush, but it is very nice and was actually pretty on me. (Retail $18)

The Susan Posnick Color Eye Define Smokey Quartz/Rose Quartz eyeliner/eyeshadow is the most interesting applicator in the box. (Retail $26)

The Smokey Quartz eyeliner side has a nice angled pen that is retractable/twist-out and rolls on very smoothly, can be blended into the lash line or drawn on neatly.

The other side is the Rose Quartz eyeshadow. It has this innovative applicator which is on a spring. The actual eyeshadow is inside the cap and you twist it back and forth to get it on the applicator. This is a very cool concept that I haven't seen yet.

This shadow worked well as an additional stripe of color when I used the Darla eyeshadow and the Susan Posnick eyeliner.

Finally, there was a little tube of Skiin Instant Tightener $ Line Filler Sample which I will use when I'm feeling especially old and wrinkly one day, soon.

To sum it up, I was very pleased with the Wantable box. I don't know if the colors of the products I received would be exactly what I would have chosen, but sometimes that makes it easier to try new makeup without over-thinking your decisions.

There is also a great value to buying these boxes. If you've been doing your math, the retail value of this box is $77! If you buy the monthly subscription, you are paying less than half price plus a freebie!

Plus you find new products that you may absolutely fall in love with, that you may never have heard of any other way (like my vegan discovery).

These make great gifts for someone who loves makeup, or needs to update their stash, and you can do a one time or a few month subscription for a gift, too!

* I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
