Banana Berry Cocao Almond and Kale Shake

*If you make a purchase using my links, I may receive a small commission.

Today's smoothie is one I've been making quite often, lately. I wanted something milk-shakey, without the milk, and a whole lotta healthy.

My recipe is going to be open to your own likes and tastes and not EXACT measurements, because you may want to adjust to your tastes. I will let you know approximately what's in it and show you the products I used to make this almost ALL ORGANIC!

Ingredients:
1 banana
1 cup or so of mixed berries
1 grabbing handful of greens (kale or spinach will do)
1 small or medium fistful of almonds
1+ Tablespoons of Cocao powder (or you can use cocoa)
1 cup or so of water sufficient for blending

Makes approx 2 smoothies

What I do:
I throw everything in my Vitamix and blend. If you don't have a Vitamix, and are using a regular blender, you may want to put your almonds in the water first, to complete pulverize. If your smoothie is not blending, you may want to add more water.

Here are the berries I use. They are from Costco.

Here is my Cacao powder. I got it from Amazon and it is a SUPER-Food.
Navitas Naturals Organic Raw Cacao Powder, 16-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 2) on Amazon

My almonds are from Braga Farms.
I order them online and they are delish!

Our his and her smoothies, this morning :)

  1. I've never used kale or spinach a smoothie before. I would have thought it would make it bitter. It sure looks good, though, and I might just give it a try!

  6. Looks good. My family love smoothies and I try to make them at home because buying them cost a lot of money for a family of five. I am always on the hunt for new ideas. Thanks.
