Snowflake Ornament Craft for Kids

*If you use my links to make a purchase, I may receive a small commission.

Here is an easy and fun ornament craft that even a toddler can do! We did this with our playgroup and the kids are all around 3 years old. I set up all the silver pipe cleaners, pre-cut the ribbon, and supplied the beads and the little kids had a great time putting the beads on their snowflakes.

Materials needed for this craft...

What You Need:
Silver pipe cleaners
Wire cutter
Needle nosed plier (optional but works better with one)
Clear plastic beads
Ribbon
Sharpie (for writing their name and the year on the ribbon)

What You Do:

This is a really fun craft for the little ones. With my three year olds, I set everything up for them and finished things off, but the older children will be able to do it all on their own.

I cut 8 pipe cleaners in half. Then I used one piece to twist around the group of them, right in the center to tie them all together. I twisted it tightly with my needle nosed plier. Then I twisted that pipe cleaner into a loop to hand the ornament.

Then, I gave the little kids a selection of clear plastic and silver beads to slide them onto the pipe cleaners however they would like. I looped the ends of the pipe cleaners on a bead to keep beads from falling off. Then I tied a ribbon and wrote my son's name and the year on it.

We had a really great time making these for our tree and as gifts. They look so pretty against the twinkle lights on the tree!
