Natural History Museum Los Angeles Visit

What do you do with a little boy who LOVES dinosaurs in Southern California? Take him to the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles! We took our little guy for a day trip to the NHMLA and he loved it!!!

Years ago, I worked on a few weddings that were hosted there.(Yes, people get married there) I used to do flowers and these events were really amazing, but their dinosaur displays were so-so, especially when I was comparing them to the Museum of Natural History in New York.

We took a special trip to NYC in June to see the museum and the little guy is dying to go back, however, recently, the NHMLA added an amazing Dinosaur Hall and we were really impressed!

There were a lot of amazing things to see, there! The guy on the right was only found in Montana. I've never seen that one, before.

We love that there are mezzanines where you can look at more interactive exhibits and get a new perspective on the dinosaur bones below.

Some stuff you can touch there...

We brought Auntie with us and she shares a love of lining up creatures and characters with him. This is something he does with all of his toys and she used to do it when she was a kid, too!

They had live newts there which were quite fascinating!

And very interesting insects, too...

We really loved our trip to the museum, so much so that we are going to have to go back again next year, and the year after that, and the year after that!!!

  1. The natural world is incredible all around, but the concept of dinosaurs boggles the mind...the impressive size and diversity! I always leave natural history museums feeling awed and amazed.
