Big Boy Room Makeover with Lush Décor​

We had such a great time doing a Big Boy Room Makeover for our 3 year old, this week. We are less than a week away from his baby sister's due date and over the last few weeks we've moved my son's rocker, his crib, his area rug, his artwork, anything else that was babyish and not nailed down into his sister's room, and left him with his twin mattress and dresser. We were so happy when Lush Décor​ sent us this fish comforter set, because the little guy loves fish, the ocean, and the color blue and it was a perfect look for his new Big Boy room!



We live in a warm climate in Southern California, so a thick comforter is usually too warm. Lush Décor​ has these great thin quilted bedspreads that are the perfect thickness for the temp, here, and anywhere else that has year round or seasonal warm weather.



We chose the Sea Life 2 piece Quilt for our son's room, but they carry so many different styles of quilt sets . Some of the patterns come in an assortment of different color palettes, too. It really is amazing how much a new bedspread changes the entire look of a room!

The quilts are basically made of two different cotton fabrics, a very thin layer of batting, and it is all quilted together and finished off with a coordinating trim.



The colors are bright and vibrant on the Sea Life Quilt. The printed design is cute and the matching pillow sham that comes with the set completes the look. The shams have the reverse bedding pattern on the other side and zip closed.



I love that these bedspreads are made of 100% cotton, so they breathe well, are a nice texture, and it doesn't trap heat and make my little guy sweat underneath. Plus they are machine washable and will fit in my regular washer.

The Lush Décor​ Sea Life 2 piece Quilt bedding looks fantastic in the big brother-to-be's room. The colors were easy to match with a nice navy blue sheet set and shag area rug, and the little guy was so happy when he saw it all together. 

I'm definitely pleased with the new bedding and so happy that my son likes it, too. He was such a great sport and a big help with giving up all his baby stuff that it felt great to surprise him with a new look for his room!
