Vegan and Gluten Free Veestro Healthy Food Delivery

One thing I hadn't thought before the birth of our second baby is ordering from a food delivery service. The area we live in is 15-20 minutes from any healthy, vegan restaurants. My husband is back at work, I've continued blogging, we have a three year old and a 6 week old and it is a challenge to get healthy food on the table every day. Let the food adventure begin!

Our Veestro food Starter Pack was delivered quickly, packed in dry ice, and ready to go in the fridge or the freezer and be consumed at our leisure.

I selected a few meals to try out the next day and placed them in the refrigerator. I placed in the rest of the meals in the freezer. I cannot explain the feeling of relief I had when I came down the next day with the baby, the boy, and all our gear, and realized that I had a home made oatmeal pie that just had to be popped in the oven. My son and I split it with some fruit. It was really good and I couldn't wait until lunch to try the next dish!



That afternoon, I put the Black Bean Scramble and the Tofu Curry in the oven. Hubby must have smelled the food because he came home for lunch. These dishes were probably the biggest hit in our house. My husband and son have food sensitivities so I don't expect them to like everything but they REALLY liked the Scramble. The Curry was a little spicy for the little dude, so his dad and I enjoyed it.

The Veestro meals are fresh frozen chef-made meals.

The Ranchero sauce on the Scramble is SO good! My boys don't normally eat my black beans and don't like quinoa but they loved this dish! Maybe because it is so flavorful and all blends together so nicely. Plus it is not spicy at all.

The curry was really great, too. Just spicy enough for Hubby and I, a little too spicy for the 3 year old (more for me!)

For dinner, we were amped up to try the cheesy looking Eggplant and Enchilada Casseroles. The Empanadas looked like they could go with these two dishes, so I baked it all up. Almost everything from Veestro bakes up at 350 for 15 - 20 minutes, so it is so easy to get healthy, hot food on the table.



I began to see the benefits of having meals like this delivered all the time, because not only is it healthy, vegan, gluten-free, but many of the dishes are absolutely delicious! Veestro lets us order meals a la cart, so I can order a few more of our favorites for the boys and I.

The dipping sauce on the Empenadas was SO yummy, and we LOVED the Eggplant Casserole!

The Enchilada Casserole was really good, too. It is so amazing when all of this kind of food can be vegan!

The next day, for lunch, we tried the Soba Noodles with Peanut Sauce. It was another great dish from Veestro!

Wouldn't you know that Hubby happened to come home for lunch again! He didn't want to miss out on the gourmet meals.

We tried the Tomato Lentil soup. To prepare the soup, we simply had to dunk it in boiling water for 10 minutes.

I thought it was delicious!

That night, we had more yummy food for dinner...

At this point, I'm starting to feel like I should always have healthy food delivered and never have to cook ever again for the rest of my life. It is perfect for someone who lives in the middle of nowhere without a healthy restaurant in sight, or someone like me, who is at home, in her yoga pants, with kids and pets hanging all over her. Veestro has different sized food packages you can choose that have 1, 2, or 3 meals a day and focus on health or weight loss, depending on what you goal is. My goal is healthy, vegan, survival.

Our final evening of sampling Veestro food commenced with the Risotto with Butternut Squash and I enjoyed it with wine! My son loves this kind of a dish and practically ate the entire thing. 

The Sleeper Hit

The Savory Croquettes with Veggie Hash looked good in the package. I baked it up and had to be very careful with it because it felt delicate. I dropped a little piece and could see it resembled tofu. I though that my hubby wouldn't like it or it would be bland and tasteless but NO. It was such an amazing flavor. This is definitely something really unique to Veestro and you will not find these anywhere else. Hubby and I LOVED these. I think we would have to include these with an a la carte order, for sure.

Not only were the Croquettes pretty, but they tasted amazing!

The Veestro chef really knows how to season tofu and create a truly delicious and healthy delicacy!

Finally, for the last meal of our Veestro food experience, I placed the burger patty they included in my Starter Pack in my ceramic frying pan with a little bit of oil. I'm always a big fan of a really great tasting hand made veggie burger and this black bean burger did not disappoint. I styled the burger with ingredients on hand and really enjoyed this burger down to the very last bite.

So this concludes our adventure of eating our way through Veestro food's Starter Pack. I highly recommend you try it. It was a great way to sample different dishes to see which meals we may want to order again. It also gave me good piece of mind for ordering a larger collection of food because the quality of everything we tried was excellent.
