We had gotten along without child-proofing our downstairs bathroom for three and a half year. We don't store any chemicals or anything deadly in there, but we don't necessarily want our almost 4 year old and and baby to get into the cabinets. Just one less thing to worry about in this mess-proned house. Luckily, we received Magnetic Baby Safety Locks for free in exchange for an unbiased review and we finally got one of the last toddler mischief frontiers covered.
The Purple Safety Magnetic Baby Safety Lock is and invisible locking system used for child-proofing cabinets and drawers to keep toddlers and little kids safe and prevent them from getting into things they shouldn't.
They are easy to install, using the attached foam tape, no drilling or screws needed. A magnetic key unlocks all 4 locks and can work through 1.5 inches of cabinet door or drawer. There are clear paper instructions and you can also view an online video.
My husband installed Magnetic Baby Safety Lock on our bathroom cabinets his way and they work just fine, yay! Yup, hubby hates reading instructions and preferred to reach through the cabinet alongside the one he was installing to line stick the two parts that interlock without a template.
One thing to note is that hubby installed the locks at the BOTTOM of the cabinets instead of the top. The top of our cabinet is too narrow to be secure, but it worked just fine on the bottom. Unfortunately, these didn't work on our drawer, and we'll still need to do something for that, but we are used to tackling unique situations in child-proofing. Get used to it when you have a toddler. It is constantly the adults trying to outsmart the kids and failing miserably.

Hope these work for you. When my daughter was a toddler she was able to figure out all the devices that were for sale then (20 yrs ago). We ended up just rigging something ourselves that she couldn't get past. :)
