This week we got to try the decadent and delicious Macadamia Nut "Brie" from The Vegan Cheese Shoppe, a beautiful 6 ingredient cheese made from fresh macadamia nuts in Hawaii. The founder, Erin Olivari, who like myself, as a pre-vegan, was a big fan of a fancy cheese. She set out to create a worthy vegan version. Her handcrafted plant based cheese can now be shipped directly to your door! We decided to make a big, fun, yummy, vegan cheese and grazing board with this amazing cheese.
This yummy macadamia nut vegan cheese is palatable, spreadable, and slice-able. It was the scrumptious star in a decadent platter of homemade chocolate peanut butter energy balls, freshly sliced stone fruits, fresh strawberries, blueberries, cherries, and freshly sliced breads - all from our local farmers market. I also made some maple vanilla cashews, and sprinkled some dried fruits and other snacks around a small cup of tasty plant-based pesto.
This vegan grazing board looked fabulous but they really are not that difficult to put together if you spread out some fruits, have some fun things in your cupboard, and order The Vegan Cheese Shoppe Macadamia cheese (because it ships to most places in a few days for free!)
The kids had their own vegan cheese board too! I think they liked eating the basil leaves the most - farm to table from the plant in the kitchen!
