Halo Sleepsack and Swaddle Sleepsack Review

So, as the months get colder, remember, your baby cannot have a blanket, it is not safe unless it is properly swaddled. Swaddling can be difficult. I couldn't keep this newborn in a swaddle to save my life!

Thank goodness, we bought a HALO Swaddle Sleepsack with a coupon, at Target, before the baby was born. It seemed expensive and I didn't know if I needed it or not, but I had a coupon, so... yes! I bought it!

It turns out we needed it. Big time.

Here he is swaddled up in my arms with arms in.
If a newborn could be smiling, he would be smiling right now.

What is great about HALO Swaddle Sleepsacks is that they allow you to do diaper changes so easily because they zip up from the bottom. This helps SO much for all those late night newborn diaper changes. We would whip those out, no problem.

What is really great about a HALO Swaddle Sleepsack is that you have the option to keep the baby's arms in (with large velcro "wings" as I like to call them) or wrap the wings around the baby's belly and allow the arms to be out. Your choice. Your baby is sleeping safely, either way.

Here he is with arms out.

This is the Swaddle Sleepsack with arms out. Sleepsacks do not have sleeves, so I would put these great little long sleeve kimonoson him to keep his arms warm.

The kimono is not a onesie, so less snaps, which means even easier to do diaper changes. They also have the added benefit of the fold over sleeves.

These are the Kimonos.

The swaddle feature is really nice to keep the baby from throwing his arms up and waking himself up but if your baby doesn't care, they also have the Sleepsacks without the swaddle. We grew into those and grew into sleeping through the night, yay!

Here he is in a fleece HALO SleepSack without the swaddle feature.

We put a thin zip up or snap pajama underneath, like these in the cold months. These helped my little one stay warm, safe and cozy without a blanket.

HALO Sleepsacks come in all sorts of fabrics and patterns and have won awards for safety. In our house I like to think that they helped our little guy sleep through the night, pretty early on. Great places to buy them are Amazon and Target. Target has a great variety of patterns and colors and often has sales and free shipping. If you have a Target RedCard, you will get 5% off and free shipping every day.

Here's to enjoying some sleep!

Also, Create an Amazon Baby Registry, get an extra 10 - 15% off and be eligible to WIN $500 in a weekly drawing!

  2. I love these! The hospital uses them now, and they sent home a brand new one as a gift for our baby last year. I've been telling everyone about them, but it's great to read this review, so I can actually show new moms what I am talking about and have an intelligent and thoughtful review to go along with it. :)
