Knott's Berry Farm with a Toddler - Part 2 Halloween

It was my birthday, so we hit the picture studio 8 deep. Grammy and Papa, 2 Uncles and Auntie with us! I love dressing up and I am really looking forward to Halloween. We got a pretty cute family picture. I wish we could do it again, but I think we will, next year.

I snapped a couple photos of the little guy since we bought an 8x10 for $70.

Sadly, and I hate to say it, but the people who were working in the shop had very little enthusiasm for their jobs. Getting people costumes and taking cool photos seems like it should be a fun job with heavy guest interaction. The girl who helped my mom, sister and I never once cracked a smile. Then she took a pretty weak photo. She was very gentle with my sweet little boy, though.

There were two other gentlemen there to help as well, but we were pretty underwhelmed by the 4 photos they took. With 8 people (one of them a 2 year old) it would have been nice to have a few more photos to choose from. Finally, the plastic umbrella props they gave us look terrible in the photo. (I actually did forward my comments to their guest service department). Don't hold one of these, if you do the photo!

We rode the mine, which is SCARY for a toddler, this time of year. They turn it into a dark haunted cave. I'm lucky my toddler is tough! I warmed him up with Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion at Disney! I don't know if the bugs were part of the ride or what, but there was a point in the ride that something creepy flew in our faces, but it was completely DARK and my brother had a small black bug stuck to his shirt a little later so who knows???

Our little guy got to trick-or-treat for the first time in Camp Spooky!

He loved Trick-or-Treating. They had nice candy and prizes, too! Of course, there was a lot of sugar, but c'mon, it's Halloween...

We also really liked the Native American show and love that they have vegan food!!!

Vegan funnel cakes, vegan mac 'n' cheese, vegan chick'n tenders, vegan hot dogs/burgers/pizza and a vegan tofu scramble for brunch! Many vegan options will also be gluten-free and soy-free.  - from the Spooky Vegan

We tried the vegan chicken tenders at the Ghost Town Grill and they were delish! The vegan food wasn't on the menu, but they had it so ask!!! So cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Grampa really enjoyed, today, too!

Knott's Berry Farm may take the DM Family Favorite Theme Park of 2013... we will see!

  1. Knott's Berry Farm sure looks like the place to visit. That "little boy" sure had a big day. I have never been, however I have heard positive comments fro family and a few friends whom have. Maybe next time your family goes the employees will have more enthusiasm for their jobs.
