MTV Miley: the Movement and some Old Vine Zinfandel

This old vine Zin from Barbeque Cellars, really does have a mesquite flavor. I've honestly never tasted anything quite like it! We drank it while watching Miley: The Movement on MTV, tonight. I would pair this wine, and probably the Miley rock-u-mentary, with some actual barbecued food (vegan barbecue!) but we ate through spicy hummus, grapes and chocolate, tonight instead. Or what about cooking with this wine!? I'm doing it.

Just like Miley Cyrus, this wine has a strange flavor, we're not quite sure what to do with it, but we want more.

Now that I've had some time to get to know Miley. I'll have to admit, she threw me way off with her "We Can't Stop" video. Wait - Hannah Montana??!! and the over-the-top, avant garde VMA performance when she twerked Robin Thicke like a stripper.

One thing I can't argue with is that Miley is a talented and creative performer and really seems to have a handle on every move she makes. It's nice to see someone that's so wild be so focused. It is quite refreshing, actually. She totally owns everything she does, no matter how ridiculous!

Miley says she was going for a "movement", "something new and creative that would take over the world" , and has a sense of humor about herself "If I really felt like doing a raunchy sex show I wouldn't have come out dressed like a damn bear!" She put together a performance at the VMAs that shocked people and she enjoyed every moment of it. She is laughing all the way to the bank!

Britney worked with Miley on this album, as did Pharrell Williams. Pharrell is a genius in his own right and sees this talent "The world thinks you know this girl but my thing to you is don't be fooled". "She's a by-product of America".

I loved when Miley told Britney (yes, that Britney) that she wanted to go to the VMAs topless but they wouldn't let her so she was trying for flesh colored latex. It came off like a joke until you realize how straightforward and brazen this kid is. Miley may be easy to make fun of, but with her impeccable comedic timing, she is already making fun of herself, and laughing back at us before Britney Spears and the rest of us even know what happened. Oh, and get used to it. I think she is going to be here for a while.
