Selling your old clothes online is a great way to get extra cash. There are quite a few sites to sell your used clothes out there that make it easy for anyone to cash in on their closet. Some sites will even do all the work for you, literally sending you a bag to fill with your old clothes and give you cash or credit up front or when your stuff are sold.
Here are 6 sites to sell your used clothes. I keep this list updated so I will add a bonus shop or two from time to time and delete them if they shut down.
Each one is a little different and there are restrictions on brands and types of clothing they will take. I tried to include the services offered by each site, and the percentage of the sales that you get to keep to help you find which might work for you. Most of them will give you bonus if your friends sign up through your links, too.

I'm a member of most of these sites so some are my sign-up links, but I don't have a favorite, yet. Enjoy!
6 Sites to Sell Your Used Clothes
1. Tradesy
This site gives you a whopping 91% commission on your sales AND sends you the pre-paid envelope for shipping. All the rest is up to you. Get a $25 credit when you sign up with my link!
Thred Up offers a different kind of service, including charitable donation of clothes that can't be sold. They send you a "clean out bag" to clean out your closets. They list and sell the items giving you 40% of the sale
Anything they can't sell goes to charity (or can be mailed back). Plus, you get $10 to shop when you use my link!
3. Poshmark
This site has the Pinterest style feed which I really like. They send you pre-paid envelopes to ship your item when it sells. They keep 20%, you get 80% of the selling price. They also have fun "parties" on their site where you can join, buy, or sell according to the party theme. I'm just checking out a Lulumon and Nike party!
4. Material World
Material World will send you a free pre-paid shipping package to trade in your clothing for credit on a pre-paid card that can be used at 100+ retailers. They only accept items that are in excellent condition, less than 5 years old and from approved brands which are mostly all high-end. This is a great site if you are looking to get top dollar for a quality piece.
5. The Real Real
This is another LUXURY clothing site. I know if a lot of us had enough cash to buy luxury clothing we wouldn't be looking to SELL our clothes, but if you have some great pieces to sell that are less than 10 years old and from an approved brand in their directory you could recoup some cash. Plus, if you like getting amazing deals on designer labels, they offer $25 for signing up.
If you are ready to unload your maternity wardrobe, this site is the perfect place to get cash for the clothes you wore while preggo. They will send you a pre-paid bag a month after your due date if you like when you sign up so you are ready to go.
I don't know about you, but I'm cleaning out my closet and I'm ready to cash in!
