Cocao Cherry Berry Valentines Smoothie

So it might be a little late for Valentine's Day, but I wanted to share this delicious smoothie I concocted for me and the little guy over the weekend. Since all of our Valentine's decorations were still up and I was in a chocolate berry mood, I thought I'd go for it with a little Easter Bunny flair.

I started out with a trio of goodness:

The frozen berries and cherries are from Costco. The cherries are pretty much a staple for me when they are in season. The organic almonds come from my favorite organic California nut farm, Braga Organic Farms.

I have been experimenting with my raw organic cocao, this week, too, and that is what gives this smoothie the rick dark chocolaty flavor. I got the Navitas Naturals Organic Raw Cacao Powder, 16-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 2) from Amazon. It is what chocolate is made out of and it is a superfood that is very healthy for you!

I always us a Vitamix blender to make my smoothies. That is why I am able to throw whole nuts in there and they come out smooth, but you can use any blender you wish. Some blenders may require more water or liquid to truly liquefy this stuff, though.

Here is what I put in to make this yummy and powerfully healthy treat:

1 1/2 cups of frozen berries/cherries
1/4 cup almonds
1/4 cup raw cocao
1 cup or so of almond, soy or coconut milk
1/2 cup or so of water
1 cup ice

I like to blend all the ingredients except the ice. Once it is completely liquefied, I add my scoop of ice to give it a more frozen/blended feel.

No I will not get rich, but I will still greatly appreciate it and thank you thank you thank you!
