Who loves cupcakes? We do!!! I always try to go green with everything I can. I use washcloths instead of paper towels, use re-usable grocery bags, drink out of re-fillable stainless steel water bottles, we even put all of our old food and paper in a worm bin! So it occurred to me, the other day, when I made cupcakes that we went through yet another container of disposable paper cupcake cups. This is why I jumped at the chance to review California Kitchenware Butterfield Silicone Cupcake Molds (Set of 12).

I was first attracted to these re-usable cups when I saw the cute colors. I just love turquoise, yellow, and hot pink together!

After giving them a quick wash in soapy water, I pulled out my favorite vegan chocolate cupcake recipe and dropped these molds into my muffin tin. The cups fit in the tin perfectly and looked so pretty, just like that!

Then, I poured my homemade batter into each cup and popped it into my hot oven.

15 minutes later, voila! Perfectly cooked through chocolate cupcakes. I loved how the molds provided a little rigidity to each cupcake as I used a fork to pull each one out to cool.

Once cool, I iced them up with my delicious vegan buttercream frosting. They looked so pretty I didn't want anyone to eat them, I got over that REAL fast, though.

The cupcake molds were easy to fold down and peel the cupcake out to eat. I really like the thickness of these molds. They are thin enough to peel and remove the cupcake, but they are strong enough to actually sit on a baking pan or cookie sheet and bake your cupcakes or muffins if you don't have or don't want to use a muffin tin. I think next time I'm going to try that so I don't have to struggle to get each hot cupcake out of the pan with a fork, like I usually do!

Another great thing about these cupcake molds is that you can put them in the top rack of the dishwasher. I almost feel like if it can't go in the dishwasher, then I don't want it. I'm not a big fan of hand washing anything if I don't have to. Don't we have better things to do, like I don't know... like eat more cupcakes?

Not only can California Kitchenware Molds be used in an oven, up to 500 degrees, but they can go in the freezer and microwave! I was just talking to my husband about doing breakfast cups for the freezer that he could nuke and eat on the go, so these would work for that, too.

I'm also thinking these will be great for little snack cups. I'm going to fill them with little nuts and crackers for my toddler. When the little guy goes to school, these would be great for his bento boxes, too! You better believe I'm going to have a little fun with school lunches... Have you seen my cute food, yet?

Anyway, I really like these cupcake molds. I would definitely purchase another a second set, for when I make a double batch, and I would highly recommend them to anyone who likes to make cupcakes, muffins, or creative bento box lunches without creating any waste.

* I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
