Thanksgiving is just about here and we are so lucky that my mom is going to cook again, this year. Our family is mostly vegetarian, so we usually have some alternative main course and loads of delicious sides. My mother always cooks a feast, except for one year when she was working, and my husband and I made the meal at my parents' house because we don't have space to host a sit down dinner at our place. 

Apparently the most memorable thing about that meal was the mess we made, especially if you ask my neat-freak Dad who puts your water glass in the dishwasher every time you walk away from it. Good thing they have a lot of glassware...

Okay, hubby and I are not so skilled at cleaning up, at least not to my parents' standards, but we get points for food that tastes good! My siblings have yet to even attempt to make a family dinner for a holiday, let alone a regular day, but nobody wants food poisoning, so they are off the hook, too. 

Next time that Mom can't cook the family feast we are all so very thankful for, we've decided we are going to order take out or make reservations at our local Buca di Beppo.
