Big Boy Room - Decorating with Style & Apply Review and Giveaway

My son has been waiting for just about 9 long months for his baby sister and has been such a huge help and good sport about everything. One minute, he was our sweet little baby, the next he is this super helpful, enthusiastic big-brother to be who became a "big boy" overnight.

He helped paint the baby's room, gave up his crib, his rocking chair, and even his area rug to her which is why we were so happy to receive wall decals from Style & Apply. to help upgrade his room and make him feel special, too!

Style & Apply is an awesome, local San Diego company that specializes in wall decals, stickers, and vinyl wall art from graphics and inspirational quotes to full color art for kids rooms, nurseries, or anywhere in the home. They are easy to apply and remove and do not leave any residue. There are over 3,000 designs to choose from, 30 available colors, and even swarovski elements you can add. All designs are made to order and they are USA made right here in San Diego, CA!

Of course I would have loved to stick to an underwater theme to match the bedding we had just picked up, but as usual, the little guy wanted to choose the design on his own and was intent on the Dino Set. We chose the 47" x 47" sheet of decals.

As a bit of a compromise, I chose navy blue, from the many available choices, without consulting him, banking on the fact that he still can't read, but that is probably going to happen soon, too. This growing up thing is moving much too fast!

Our package arrived quickly and packaged beautifully. Style & Apply provided this handy video to make sure we had an easy time putting up our new decorations.

We basically followed the instructions in the video exactly and you can follow along step by step below.

First hubby cut out each dinosaur shape. He says he wished he cut it with sharper angles because it would have made it easier to match up with his marks on the wall later on...

We placed each one on the freshly cleaned wall with a little scotch tape to find the best positioning.

Hubby marked the wall with a pencil in a few spots around the decals.

Then he pressed the edge of the tool on the decal on each side.

Next we peeled off the paper on the wall side.

He placed the decals within his pencil marks and pressed them onto the wall with the card tool...

... and slowly peeled it off, using the tool to make sure the design was sticking to the wall.

Hubby took his time making sure all the details were stuck firmly to the wall. We have a slightly textured wall, so I went over it with my hands afterward to make sure the decals were clinging nicely to all the texture.

The Style & Apply decals looked so cool when we were done! 

Hubby said he found the project very easy and was pleased with the application process as well as the end result.

I love the modern look and how the designs looked great with all of the other patterns and decor that we added to the Big Boy Room.

We only had to add a couple more touches to fully transform a baby nursery into something a preschooler would like...

... and he LOVED it!
