We finally got a couple poppies blooming in the front yard! I know it's not much, but I've been waiting for a while and there should be a lot more soon!Over the last few weeks, hubby and the little guy have been out there weeding, and weeding, and weeding. It's nice to see something special finally coming up!
They've been out there every weekend!
I'm so proud of them that they learned how to spot the weeds and pull those while not damaging the poppies! We also got some of these cool flowers.
We also have these cute little primroses I got from Costco that the boys planted around my hydrangea, who is just chillin' right now. I grabbed a blue one the other day that I need to plug in. If you do primroses, you gotta have the blue.
They should come up every year. At least they did when I lived in Los Angeles, so hopefully it will work, here, too. This is my little modern spot where I really just wanted a different style and look than my deserty looking front yard.
So much more I want to do out here, but it has been hard while I'm preggo. I've been grateful that the boys have gotten out there and battled the weeds. Not without a few casualties, though. They ripped out my miniature lavenders thinking they were weeds. Ooops. I explained that nothing with a woody stem like that would be a weed, here. No biggie. I can't be mad after how hard they worked. Hopefully I'll be able to get out there really soon!

ReplyDeleteI would love to plant some colorful flowers in my yard. However, our weather here is still too crazy. We had an ice storm. Plus, I have to get rid of the weeds and trim back the bushes first.
