NEW Baby is HERE!!!

Well, the Countdown to Baby has officially come to a close! Our beautiful, healthy, baby girl has arrived! We are overjoyed to have this little girl join our family. Her big brother is in LOVE with her. We just cannot get enough of her. Our dog is ready to report to duty as fierce protector of babies, and our cat has vowed to stay as far away from her as he can manage.

The birth was pretty routine and once she was ready to make her debut, it only took 20 minutes of pushing to bring her out into the world! I was a little surprised at how much easier this one was to deliver compared to the first one. Of course, I had the epidural. I'm not that big on pain. They made me walk the halls a little to get a little more dilated after I arrived at the hospital and I was having contractions ever 2 minutes. I applaud all you mommas that fight through it. I could not wait to get them over with and enjoy the birth.

YES! I said enjoy. Once I got my pain meds, a little rest, and she got into position, the anesthesiologist allowed me a little more meds because I was still feeling pain. I remembered the painful three hours of pushing for my son as my meds wore off and was thinking it would be good to be a little more ready, this time. I didn't realize that she was going to be out so fast! I can't really complain, too much, though, because I barely felt a thing, and no, it was not hard to push at all. She came out so pretty, perfect, and has been just lovely!

We are so lucky to have her and I think she scored big, too as the final addition to this fun family! We are going to have a blast together!
