Vegan Rosemary Bread Machine Bread

This week, we finally got our Breadman bread machine out and put it to the test. I've been eating a mostly vegan diet, and making meals without the piles of cheese of yesterday has become a little tricky. To really enjoy a vegan diet, you need to take a second look at the food that you already eat and start putting amazing flavors together to improve it. Well, hubby did just that with his amazing Vegan Rosemary Bread Machine Bread.

Hubby is an amazing cook and told me he had made bread machine bread before, so he took this one on this weekend while I watched the kiddos among other projects. He read some recipes, then decided to try one, modified with some of our favorite flavors.

Once the 3 hour bread machine time was completed, we put a little butter on this beautiful bread and devoured it!

Although we may want to set the crust to a little darker next time, with the rosemary and other seasoning, it was perfect!

We had a smoothie and copious amounts of bread for dinner this night.

Mmmmm.... more vegan butter!

There was a line out the door to get a buttered slice of bread!

This recipe will definitely be part of our rotation. It could go easily with pasta and red sauce, a Tofurky sandwich, or just plain!

What You Need:

1 Cup Water
3 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 1/2 tsp Sugar
1 1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Italian Seasoning
1/4 tsp Black Pepper
1 1/2 Tbsp Dried Rosemary
2 1/4 Cups Bread Flour
1 1/2 tsp active dry yeast

Yield 1.5lb loaf

What You Do:

First, you add your water and Olive oil to your bread machine basket. Then you add all of your dry ingredients except your yeast.

Next, you dig a small well in the top of your mixture to put your yeast in the well.

Finally start your bread machine and wait!

Hubby likes to lay out all of his ingredients, first. As you can see, we are almost all organic!

This is actually a very simple bread and it doesn't use any dairy.

Then you add the wet ingredients to the bread basket including salt.

Followed by the dry ingredients, minus the yeast.

It is very important to make a little well and put your yeast in it. This ensures that it is mixed in at the appropriate time.

Three hours later in your machine, you will get a beautiful bread!

Enjoy!

  1. This looks so delicious! I love bread and could eat it at every meal, but it doesn't always look best on my tummy, lol! Vegan Butter? Sounds like a winner! xo
