This week, we took a trip to Costco. I needed to replenish our frozen fruit supply and I was super stoked to find the Dark Sweet Organic Cherries. They really are so super sweet that they make any smoothie a treat.
As we sampled our way around the store, we scored a little sip of their new Organic Silk Almond Milk which was delish! I am satisfied with the ingredient list being pretty basic as well. They have a little bit of an assortment of gums/carageenan but less than 2% so I'll settle for that if I'm not making my own milk. The Almond milk is slightly sweetened too, but so is my homemade milk so I'm fine with this.
I realized that making a smoothie with these two ingredients was going to be a REAL treat.
To round this smoothie off and keep it from being over-the-top sweet I used some fresh strawberries. Can you make this smoothie with frozen strawberries? Yes. Is it creamier have superior drinkability with the fresh strawberries? YES. Is it more like a shake or a smoothie? Or a juice? Dunno.
What you need:
2 C. frozen dark sweet cherries
2. C. fresh strawberries
2 C. Almond or milk of choice
What you do:
Put everything in the blender and blend on high until smooth.
This makes about 4 small smoothies or 2 large.
