Hello Kitty Birthday Party Food - Vegan Cat Mini-Pizzas

For the third and final post in our series of Hello Kitty Birthday Food we have an extra cute savory snack that the kids and grown-ups absolutely loved! Our little girl just turned two and celebrated this milestone in Japan so we thought a Hello Kitty Birthday party would be fitting and fun. I have this great recipe for vegan Mozzarella and have been making personal pizzas. With a few added details, I was able to craft a simple and cute Hello Kitty inspired face!

How to Make Hello Kitty Birthday Food Pizzas

First you will want to make a batch of our Vegan Mozzarella or you can use your favorite cheese of choice. It is actually quite easy to make and you don't even have to be vegan to make it or like it!

Then you scoop out some of the cheese on a ceramic plate and flatten and shape into a circle with a rubber spatula so that it will fit on top of your english muffin or bagels.

Next, you cut out your bows and nose from your colored peppers with a scissor.

The fresh food cutting prep-work could easily be done a day in advance.

Cut your whiskers and eyes out of some fresh basil.

Then slice some cauliflower "ears" out of some fresh florets using a sharp knife.

Put pizza sauce or marinara on your LIGHTLY toasted bagel or English muffin. I find toasting first seems to work well so they don't get soggy. Add veggies and basil pieces.

I add cheese rub a tiny bit of olive oil and sauce on the vegan cheese. This gives it that genuine oily, cooked cheesy look.

I suppose you could actually serve them without cooking but I like them cooked a tiny bit.

Place your mini pizzas in the oven or toaster oven watching VERY closely. Over-cooking will destroy the look. You just want them cooked enough to look pretty when served.

Cut basil whiskers and eyes with sharp scissors.

Rub a tiny bit of olive oil and marinara on face. This gives it a cheesy oily look when cooked.

Place in toaster oven or oven for a few minutes keeping a VERY close eye on them so they do not burn.
