Penwizard Personalized Book Review - The Snowman and the Snowdog

This week we got to review complimentary personalized book from Penwizard. The book is called The Snowman and the Snowdog and anyone who knows us knows we love animals so I thought this would be a good book for our little girl to have in her collection.

In this Penwizard personalized book, I was able to enter my daughters name and it is printed on the cover and throughout the book. You can also customize hair color , skin color, clothing, boy or girl, with or without glasses and sure enough my daughter asked "is that me?" She was very excited to read this book!

I also filled out a message, but realized I could have had "mommy and daddy" and the year printed in the message to make that a little more personalized which may be helpful for anyone thinking about buying one of these books for the first time. 

It was fun to hand sign the book too and doesn't look horrible so it really just depends on what you like better.

How is the Snowman and the Snow Dog story?

The story of The Snowman and the Snowdog is a Frosty the Snowman-type story of the snowman and a very cute little snowdog with sock ears coming to life. It was a nice long book with a little bit of a sad part in the beginning where the main character (your child) has an elderly dog that passes away. *tears*

I suppose this is not much sadder than every Disney movie ever made but just an emotional part of the story which then takes on a magical path to the happy ending. I'd also note there are a few terms in the book that are British English but it doesn't take away from the story. Just know that the "sledge" is not a typo - as my husband, who travels to London often, points out. I was clued in at "Father Christmas".

Overall it is a beautiful quality keepsake book that will undoubtedly remain as part of the cherished permanent collection. We will look forward to reading this every year.
