Silk Plants and Floral Decor that Work Beyond the Holidays

I love decorations that can look great for the holidays but could potentially stay up all year round. Silk Plants Direct was kind enough to send us this faux topiary that I thought would be perfect for our front porch. We lit it up for the holidays but I could see it working long past the post-New Year.

It is VERY cute but it just didn't belong to the right of the door. Luckily for me it fit perfectly, like it was made for this spot, to the left of the door.

The Cedar Topiary Spiral Tree comes without lights but I added a colorful strand of battery operated mini LED lights to make it festive for the holidays. 

I dropped the topiary into a decorative planter and secured it in place with river rock.

It is a very nice quality. The very small plastic replica plant material is as realistic and it will never die! I find this stuff is very easy to clean as well. You can pretty much hose it down when needed. Keeping it out of the direct sunlight will extend the color of this faux plant as long as possible.

Other Silk Flowers and Plants that Work for the Holidays and the New Year

Silk Plants Direct has a TON of other topiaries in spiral shapes, balls, cones, and created to look like boxwoods, or cedars, and all kinds of other plants and trees you could use on a porch. The take no grooming yet have that well-trimmed effect.

I love this Dahlias and Proteas wreath which also has that beyond the holidays appeal with the deep reds bright greens but no discernible Christmas motifs.

Finally for the indoors something like this has those rich holiday burgundies and hot pink with the light and bright green tones. The little coffee berries lend themselves to holiday decorating but if it isn't enough you could add some pinecones, something sparkly, metallic, or merry to glam it up for the season then tone it back down when it's done.
