Ravensburger Gravitrax Starter Set Review

We received a Gravitrax Starter Set from Ravensburger. It is an interactive marble run construction set and STEM toy made for ages 8 and up that allows you to build your own racetrack using spacial reasoning, planning skills and experiment with gravity, magnetism, and kinetics. It was also featured on 'Live with Kelly and Ryan' as one of the best products shown at the New York. My son got into this toy right, skipping the instructions and getting right to work. A little while later, his Dad took over!

Check out the video we made if you want to see it in action!

More about the Ravensburger Gravitrax

This toy comes with 6 marbles and has 4 cardboard bases that you can configure in a variety of ways to hold the small grey plastic construction pieces in place. Then there are the white track pieces and clear platform pieces you can use to design your course.

You can use the magnetic cannon piece to launch marbles or a piece that launches 3 at once. The track pieces are also plastic (not metal) and snap into the white pieces for infinite possibilities. The set comes with construction guides with easy to follow instructions.

What we Thought of the Ravensburger Gravitrax

My son who is not quite 8 yet, wasn't so interested in the instructions, but started designed his own track right away. Then his dad joined him. Pretty soon they had an elaborate Gravitrax marble run set up! For the rest of the weekend, my husband spent a lot of his spare time watching football and playing with the kids with this. It was a lot of fun to watch and they enjoyed it! They liked it so much they asked for another set so they could make a bigger one!

We think this toy is a great idea for a gift!

You can pick one up right from Ravensburger

We will also be having a Giveaway coming up soon!

Why we like Ravensburger

The Ravensburger company focuses on minimizing their carbon footprint and recycles nearly all of their manufacturing waste. The toys that we have reviewed here are all high quality, well made, vey hands on Most of their manufacturing is still done in Germany where it has been since the 1800s.
