Jammy Jams Hair Metal Goes Lullaby

Yes, I admit it, I was a child in the '80s and a fan of hair metal bands like Poison and Mötley Crüe. My first memories of going to a concert was for Mötley Crüe at the Meadowlands in NJ, the big hair capitol of he world. I played "Home Sweet Home" on the piano, I sang along with Sebastian Back for "I Remember You". I watched headbangers ball every Saturday night on MTV.

When I got the opportunity to review Jammy Jams Hair Metal Goes Lullaby with my toddler, I couldn't wait to hear what they did to my favorite 80's songs. The songs are not by the original artists. Instead, they are a rendition of the original tracks that are done with sounds and instruments that resemble a child's music box. It is so very cute to hear my beloved songs done in this way so that my son can enjoy them, now too!

As soon as I played the first song, "Every Rose Has Its Thorn", my little guy came right up to hear, and knew it was for him. We had fun listening and my husband and I began singing the lyrics, because we both knew every word. This makes a great baby karaoke album!

Take a listen...

Here is the track list:

This album is perfect for bedtime. As I've been mentioning on the blog, lately, I've been collecting music to entertain my toddler while he drifts off to sleep. I've been avoiding loud and lively music for obvious reasons but Jammy Jams Hair Metal Goes Lullaby turns nostalgic hair band music into sweet baby lullabies. Our little guy enjoyed listening to this album turned down low in his room at bedtime. Win, in my book.

So if you are a former headbanger, hair band, heavy metal head, and you have kids or grandkids, I recommend Hair Metal Goes Lullaby as a nice album to get their music collection started. You can buy it on their site as a digital copy, CD, both, or a download card, which makes a great gift. You can also buy the combo complete with a "Poison" onesie, to make sure the next generation of kids know the classics.

Right now, you can WIN Jammy Jams "Hair Metal Goes Lullaby album!

  1. Oh my goodness! I bet my daughter would love this. She already has the Cure songs done as lullabies, so this would be perfect to add to her collection! Thanks for the review!
