As we get closer and closer to our baby girl's due date, we are trying to make sure we have everything we need. One thing we relied on regularly when our first child was an infant, and still do today, was our video monitor. We were able to keep a watchful eye on the little guy and check in on him if we heard a sound.
With our baby monitor, we could watch to see if our baby was awake, waking, crying, coughing, or just cooing in his sleep while we are barely awake, doing chores during naptime, or watching tv while he slept.
So with another little one on the way, it was imperative that we increase our surveillance to at the very least, a two camera system so we can make sure they both are safe when we aren't right there beside them. We just got to try out the Levana Stella 2 Camera Video Monitor and this system has everything we need to keep an eye on both of our precious children whenever and wherever we need to.
Levana, who pioneered the first handheld video monitor ever made in 2002, exclusively manufactures video monitors. They focus on perfecting the technology of these systems, and they keep in close contact with their customer base, so they are very much in tune to what we, as parents, need and want, with child safety as their top priority.
Here's what's included with the Levana Stella 2 Camera Monitor:
Pan/Tilt/Zoom Night Vision Camera
Baby Video Monitor
Rechargeable Battery
3 Power Adapters

The system also comes with a 1 Year Warranty and Lifetime Live Customer Support.
Features that are Important to Us:
Not only does the Levana Stella 2 Camera Video Monitor have two separate cameras, but the cameras have Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) and are adjustable up to 270° horizontally and up to 110° degrees vertically from the center position giving a tremendous range of visibility. The invisible night vision LEDs on the cameras allow us to see the child in the dark without lighting up the child's room. The cameras can be mounted on the wall, or placed out of reach on a table in the room.
The monitor has a very large, high resolution 4.3" digital color screen and has a rechargeable battery allowing the unit to go wireless and cordless so there is no risk of cord strangulation. The monitor features peep mode, which when selected, allows it to sleep after 1 minute of a quiet and extends battery life for up to 36 hours. If a sound is made, and you adjust the sensitivity, the live view will switch back on. The LED on the front of the monitor also has color changing alert indicators that detect sound intensity as well.
One of my most used features with my toddler is two way talk, especially while I'm pregnant and I can solve problems without walking up and down the stairs when he calls me at night. For our new infant, we will make good use of the zoom, volume, switch cameras as needed, and may even use the lullaby features.
Do you remember that creepy baby monitor hacking that appeared in the news not too long ago? You definitely don't have to worry about that with Levana, because their ClearVu wireless technology is secure and cannot be hacked.
When my son was a baby, I relished and reveled naptime. One of my favorite things to do was to go out and work in my garden while he was napping. With the max transmission range of this monitor at 750 feet this one would also work perfectly for allowing me to get outside during a nap, and of course be able to see and hear if he awoke from outside, downstairs, or my bedroom. Pretty much wherever I want to go in and around the house, the monitor can go along with me and still allow me to keep a watchful eye on the little one(s).
Right now, we are in the (dreaded) phase of childhood where my son doesn't nap at all, but I'm using a camera in the playroom. Our kitchen is not open, and I have cooking and cleaning to do in there, so I can watch him and make sure he is staying out of trouble while playing in the other room.
One of the greatest features of the Levana Stella Monitor is that you can add up to 4 monitors to the system, so I'm considering adding more so I can watch them both during sleep, during play, see more, and in turn, do more while resting assured that my two little bugs are safe.

Most of the time he's just playing with his building toys :)
