We often cook with herbs. I usually separate any leaves or greens from a stem, if there is one, and use my big knife to chop them up on my wooden cutting board. Sometimes is a little tricky, messy, and annoying to deal with such little leaves and to try to get them cut into suitable pieces. This is why we were so excited to try out the The Select Culinary™ 5-Blade Herb Scissors. I've seen these types of kitchen scissors with multiple blades, before but it was great to finally get my hands on one.

The Select Culinary™ 5-Blade Herb Scissors works just like a standard scissor but with five stainless steel blades that make the equivalent of 5 chops with a knife in just one snap. These scissors come with a cover to protect the blades which also acts as a cleaning tool that slips between the blades and frees any herbs that are stuck.

We love these Herb Scissors. Right away, you will notice the sharpness and tightness of the blades. There is a sound that a good scissor makes and you can hear this when you test them for the first time.

Not only can you take a handful of herbs like mint, chives or anything you just want chopped and cut them up easily, but you can pull herbs like rosemary away from the stem a little then chop them right off without ever having to remove them.

Once you are done cutting up your herbs, you simple take the cover/cleaning tool, run the comb-like end through your blades, and get any little bits out.

Then a quick rinse will get any remaining debris out. Then I like to lay the scissor open on a dishcloth to air dry before I replace the cap and store.

The Select Culinary™ 5-Blade Herb Scissors make chopping herbs so easy, I can't imagine ever going back to using a knife for herb chopping. This tool turns a messy task into a fast and fun one. I highly recommend picking up one of these on Amazon so chopping can become an enjoyable task from now on.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. I don't have so much use for this tool. I think I often go with the normal scissor and it works just fine.
