Our Avocado Baby Brunch - Menu and Recipe Ideas for a Plant-Based Playdate

This post was sponsored by Fresh Avocados – Love One Today® as part of an In-Home Party Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably know I'm a little avocado obsessed. On a normal day, you can find me smashing fresh avocado on toast and topping with tomatoes, onions and hot sauce. I like it sliced on a Buddha bowl, on a sandwich, wrap or veggie burger, I'm even known to carry one in my purse... Today I got to throw a party with my mommy tribe, their beautiful babies, and my favorite fruit.

The avocado's smooth, creamy consistency and mild taste makes it one of the first fresh fruits a child can enjoy. It was both of my children's first food.

You can cube your avocado, smash it, puree it, slice it, mix it into mocktails, cocktails, even bake with it or curl it into a rose...

Avocados contribute nearly 20 nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber and phytonutrients, that are important to infant/toddler nutrition.

There is 30% of your daily folate in 1 medium avocado as well as 3 grams protein, 6% of your iron. Find out more nutrional info..

One avocado can give a baby all the folate they need in a day. I can't think of a better thing to snack on and eat with a group of pregnant mamas, babies, and little kids.

Wholesome, fresh foods are less likely to contain added sugars, salt and other processed ingredients.

The Avocado Baby Brunch

This week was significant for my mommy friends. Some of our older children went off to Kindergarten!

I got to celebrate the end of an era with the beginning of a new one. After I shuffled my oldest off to school, I had my Mom friends over with their younger kids for the first play date ALONE!

I made a plant-based brunch, special thanks to Fresh Avocados - Love One Today®.

There are a TON of mostly plant-based avocado recipes on AvocadoCentral.com which is great because I only make yummy vegan food in our house.

Tortilla Crepe-Avocado with Apple and Peanut Butter Recipe from AvocadoCentral.com.

I decided to try some kid friendly wraps and "veganize" something a little more savory for the grown-ups.

BLTA - Vegan "Fakin' Bacon, avocado, tomato, plant-based mayo rolled into tortilla.

For drinks we had infused water, delicious Agua Fresca De Aguacate (recipe from AvocadoCentral.com) made with honeydew melon, lime and a hint of avocado.

Don't forget the champagne!

I carved up a watermelon heart to show my love and appreciation to the glorious avocado and added complimentary fruits like mango, strawberries, and grapes.

ENTERTAINMENT

Our house is like a preschool with a playground so it is pretty easy to keep the little ones entertained!

The kids always gravitate towards the piano and drum kit.

When they are outside they love the swing sets and trampoline.

Of course we end up watching a certain animated film with an ice princess theme because it is mostly girls...

There were hearts everywhere at this party, even heart braids! LOVE!!!

It was so much fun to have these ladies and their beautiful little ones over. I don't know if it is because all of us are now second, third (and one with #3 and 4 twins on the way!!!) time moms, the playdates used to be heavy on the boys, or this little sibs were just happy to be away from their older brothers and sisters but these kids got along super well and let their moms enjoy a relaxing afternoon.

The trio of 3 year old baby sisters played so nicely together and even included the little girls. Two sweet 4 year old boys teamed up, and babies nursed and chewed on squishy finger food.

Avocados make great finger food and throw great parties. It's also great to get together with your friends to laugh and have a rockin' good time once in a while.

Thank you Hass Avocados!!!
